# The memory

The two sides of the memory column measure differently, and the record states how \[S, benchmark record]. Comparator memory is the peak RSS of the prover process. zkFOL's prover runs inside a managed runtime that idles at hundreds of megabytes before any proof, so its column is the increment the prover added over that baseline, and the increment is order dependent when rows share a runtime, a band rather than a point. Whole-process peaks on the small rows run 234 to 358 MB. On those terms: under 10 MB added on the doubled fib rows, roughly 3 MB on the bounds check, 25 to 28 MB on sudoku, roughly 205 MB on the linear route, and roughly 980 MB proving the exact integer by the linear route, against 312 MB to 17 GB across the comparator rows. The vendors' own guidance corroborates the right-hand side: both document 16 GB or more for local CPU proving. \[S]
